The owner and founder of North State Law, Nick Dowgul, focuses his practice on helping professionals keep their licenses so they can continue to help others through their chosen profession and continue to maintain their lifestyle. Professional license defense includes hearings in front of state license boards, hearings in front of the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings as well as any legal proceeding involving an individual’s professional license.
In addition to professional license defense, Nick has helped clients navigate the troubled waters of Family Law since 2014. Nick’s experience in Family Law includes child custody, equitable distribution, child support, post-separation support, alimony, divorce, and step-parent adoption actions. Other areas Nick has years of experience in include civil litigation, traffic citations, and landlord/tenant disputes.
Nick fell in love with Raleigh, NC on his first visit in 2010 and moved shortly thereafter. He enjoys spending his free time hiking and camping as well as attending sporting events. He also enjoys being outside with his wife and son. A Florida State University graduate, Nick is a proud alumnus and can be frequently found supporting the Noles when they come to the triangle area.
In 2008, Nick started his legal career as an attorney with the Harrison County, Mississippi public defender’s office where he found his professional passion litigating cases. Nick loves being in the courtroom but believes that resolving cases, when they can be resolved, is typically in a client’s best interest. That said, when it’s time to present his case, Nick is well-prepared to obtain the best results for his clients.
